Francisco Corzas

Francisco Corzas Chávez ( born October 4, 1936 in Mexico City; † September 15, 1983 ) was a Mexican painter and lithographer.

Life

Corzas parents were out of town Quecholac / Puebla and were already living in Mexico City when he was born. He studied from 1951 to 1955 painting at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado " La Esmeralda" in his hometown and then for three years and fresco painting nude painting in Italy. In Europe, he was strongly influenced by the local art movements of the different eras. In 1958 he won in Rome the International Prize of the arts festival in the Via Margutta and thereby gained international notoriety. In Milan, his first solo exhibition was held at the Galleria Trentadue. In addition, he participated in various group exhibition.

In 1973 he painted a number of oil paintings for the Vatican, also some lithographs, among others in the Grafiche Caprini at Rome and in Milan Grafiche di Upiglio. In 1967 he met his longtime girlfriend Bianca Dall'Occa Orsi know. Before he went back to Mexico, he worked in New York in a lithography studio. In 1962 he received an honorary mention of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana, where he initially made ​​at the Galería Mizrachi. As a scholarship from the French government, he spent a year in Paris. In 1976 he received a scholarship from the Mexican Fundación Cultural Televisa. Overall Corza participated in 43 group exhibitions worldwide. He was also a member of the group Los Interior fashionistas.
