Francisco Craveiro Lopes

Francisco Higino Craveiro Lopes [ fɾɐsiʃku iʒinu kɾɐvɐiɾu lɔpɨʃ ] ( born April 12, 1894 in Lisbon, † September 2, 1964 in Lisbon ) was a general and Portuguese President ( 1951-1958 ).

The military was 1929-1936 122 Governor General of Portuguese India. In 1939 he was commander of the Air Force. The dictatorial ruling by the Prime Minister António de Oliveira Salazar employed as President of Portugal Craveiro Lopes soon came into conflict with Salazar and was replaced by this 1958 Américo Tomás. Craveiro Lopes to have been involved in the failed coup of Júlio Botelho Moniz in 1961. He died on 2 September 1964 in Lisbon.
