Francisco José Maldonado

Francisco José Maldonado Collante, short Maldonado ( born June 2, 1981 in San Fernando, Cádiz ) is a Spanish footballer who plays for FC Cartagena in Segunda División of the Spanish.

Playing career

The beginnings

Francisco Maldonado comes from the youth of the Spanish Trationsclubs Real Betis. From 2002 to 2003 he playeth in the B- team, 2003/ 04 he made his debut in the first division team. After a good season in the B- team, he was loaned out to third division side AD Ceuta in 2004/05. He scored seven goals in 36 games and was thus a regular player. The following year he was again awarded - to the second division Movers Lorca Deportiva. With Lorca he had even managed to almost the walkover in the first division. For him personally, the season went well, as he scored 13 goals in 26 games.

Return to Betis

After two years with other clubs Maldonado came back in 2006 to Real Betis. There he delivered himself with the newly obligated German international David Odonkor for a starting berth. At the end he came to at least 15 times. As Betis in the summer of 2007 arming and under the neuverpflichteten coach Héctor Cúper the squad heavily modified Maldonado was loaned out to Premiership relegation Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the Segunda División. After the end of the season he moved to Erstligaaufsteiger Sporting Gijón.
