Franco Scoglio

Franco Scoglio ( born 2 May 1941 in Lipari, † October 3, 2005 in Genoa ) was an Italian football coach.

Scoglio began his career in 1972 as a youth coach. Through various stations in unterklassigen clubs he came in 1988 to the Italian second division Genoa. This he was conducted in 1990 in the series A. Between 1990 and 1998 he worked for a total of eight first-and second division, including at FC Bologna, Udinese Calcio and Torino Calcio. Nowhere but he finished an entire season.

In the fall of 1998, he was technical director of the national team of Tunisia. In Africa Championship 2000, he led them to fourth place. In February 2000, Scoglio returned until the end of the season 1999/2000 back to Genoa. Then he took over the post of coach of the Libyan national soccer team.

On 3 October 2005 Scoglio died during a TV show, the private broadcaster Primocanale to which he was invited as a guest. During the show, he had complained of feeling unwell. Despite immediately initiated first aid measures Scoglio died in the private television studio.
