François Coty
François Coty ( May 3, 1874 in Ajaccio on Corsica as Joseph Marie François Spoturno; † July 25, 1934 in Louveciennes near Paris ) was a renowned French perfumer and is credited with founding the modern fragrance industry. In 1933, Coty founded the fascist league Solidarité Française, a paramilitary organization during the reign Édouard Daladier.
