François d'Amboise

François d' Amboise ( * 1550 in Paris, † 1619 in Paris) was a French writer. He was the son of Jean d' Amboise and the brother of Adrien d' Amboise, Bishop of Tréguier, and Jacques d' Amboise, Rector of the University of Paris. He was Conseiller at the Parlement of Brittany and at the Grand Conseil General lawyer.

He studied at the Collège de Navarre rhetoric and philosophy. 1568 he taught philosophy at the Collège itself. In the same year he wrote a Élégie sur le trepas d' Anne de Montmorency. In August 1572 he accompanied the Duke of Anjou and later became King of France Henry III. for the election of a king to Poland. The playwright Pierre de Larivey, his friend, and his cousin Louis de Clermont, seigneur de Bussy d' Amboise also participated in the trip.

In 1575 he became Procureur de la nation ( national prosecutor ), 1581 counsel for the king at the Chambre du trésor, 1586 avocat général and Grand conseil of the king. 1589 he was appointed by Henry III. appointed knight.

1596 appointed him King Henry IV to the Legal Adviser, and 1604 to the Conseiller d' État (Council of State ).

François d' Amboise was Lord of Vezeul, Bourot, Neuillé- le Lierre, Brouard, Lespinière, La Huardière in Touraine, Houvoy, Malnoue, Courserin, Plessis- Bourre, Hémery, and Baron of La Chartres -sur -le- Loir.

He was a friend of Robert Garnier, Pierre Matthieu and Gilles Bourdin, in which he met the playwright Guillaume -Gabriel Le Breton, Odet de Turnèbe and Pierre de Larivey.

He wrote, among other things, a Verskomödie, Néapolitaines ( 1584) and several poems, and was in 1616 the works of Peter Abelard out.

His son was Antoine d' Amboise, Lord of Clos Luce, a colonel in the regiment Amboise and field marshal.

François d' Amboise was buried in the church of Saint -Paul -et -Saint -Louis in the Marais.
