François Louis de Rousselet, Marquis de Châteaurenault

François Louis de Rousselet, marquis de Chateau- Renault (also: Château Renault, Châteaurenaut or Châteauregnaud ) (* 1637, † 1716) was a French nobleman, Marshal and Vice Admiral.

In 1689 he was the commander of the French fleet in the naval engagement in Bantry Bay. He was one of the French squadron commander at the Battle of Beachy Head. In the War of Spanish Succession, he became in 1701 Vice Admiral and commanded the French fleet at the Battle of Vigo. The battle was a complete defeat and its flagship La Forte burned with the majority of the fleet.

In 1704 he became governor of Brittany and fought on February 2, 1705 Knight of the Order of the Holy Spirit.
