François-Marie, 1st duc de Broglie

François -Marie de Broglie, 1st Duke de Broglie (contrary to the correct pronunciation of the name Broglie as French breuil the name of the named after François -Marie de Broglie place Broglie in Strasbourg is pronounced as French brogli by residents ) (* January 11, 1671 in Paris, † May 22, 1745 ) was a French military leader, Marshal of France.

His father Victor- Maurice de Broglie (1647-1727) was also a Marshal of France, his mother, his wife Marie de Lamoignon ( 1645-1733 ).

Life and achievements

François -Marie de Broglie took since 1689 in all the campaigns in Germany, Italy and Flanders, 1714 Governor of Mont -Dauphin and General of Cavalry in 1724 and authorized representative to London.
