Frank Conroy (actor)

Frank Parish Conroy ( born October 14, 1890 in Derby, Derbyshire, England; † February 24, 1964 in Paramus, New Jersey) was a British actor.

Life

Frank Parish Conroy was a British actor who has worked with over 50 years of stage experience from 1913 to 1963 on Broadway. After his musical debut in 1913 with The Passing Show of 1913, he debuted in 1914 with The Garden of Paradise as a stage actor with a dramatic piece. With a participation of nearly 50 different pieces In 1957 he was awarded for his portrayal of William Callifer in Graham Greene's The Potting Shed the prestigious theater prize Tony Award as Best Supporting Actor. From 1930 Conroy was also seen regularly in the American film. He has starred in films such as Charlie Chan in Egypt, panic at King Kong and The Day the Earth Stood Still with. He became better known by the presentation of Major Tetley where directed by William A. Wellman Western The Ox -Bow.

Conroy died at the age of 73 from a heart attack. He was married to Helen Robbins, with whom he had a son.
