Frank Dikötter

Frank Dikötter (* 1961 in the Netherlands) is a Dutch historian and sinologist. He is a professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies ( SOAS ) and the University of Hong Kong.

Life

Dikötter studied at the University of Geneva History and Russian. He then spent two years in the People's Republic of China. In 1990 he received his doctorate at SOAS in History. After that, he conducted research on there and in 2002 professor.

Dikötter is married and currently lives in Hong Kong.

Work

Dikötter has written many books about modern China written, for example, Mao 's Great Famine, in 2011, the Samuel Johnson Prize won.
