Frank Engel (football manager)

Frank Engel (* February 15, 1951 in Leipzig ) is a German football coach. He is currently the coach of the U - 15 Junior of the youth national teams of the national teams of the DFB.

Player

Frank Engel began his football career at BSG Dimo Böhlitz Ehrenberg. Then played in the junior league of DDR for Chemie Leipzig, but he had to quit because of back problems already with 19 years of his playing career.

Coach

Angels from 1976 to 1988 was responsible for the Football Association of the GDR at youth level. He was sitting at 195 junior internationals on the bench and later coached, among other variables such as Matthias Sammer and Ulf Kirsten Thomas Doll. In 1986, he won the bronze medal at the U16 European Championship in Spain. In the match for third place, the junior selection of the GDR defeated the West German team of Holger Osieck.

After the turn, he trained many clubs, among other things, he oversaw the FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the 2nd Bundesliga and was assistant coach of Jörg Berger in Aachen and Rostock. International experience gained angel as a trainer in South Korea Daewoo Royals (1990) and in Egypt at Ismaily SC (1998 /99).
