Frank Ostrowski

Frank Ostrowski is a German programmer.

The first project of Frank Ostrowski, which gained widespread notoriety, was Turbo -BASIC XL for Atari 400/800/XL/XE-Reihe (8 -bit architecture ). He developed it during a three-year period of unemployment following his military service. It distinguished itself over the built Atari BASIC in particular by its higher speed. He submitted it to the computer magazine Happy Computer. The computer magazine it was worth a impression in a special edition and the award as a listing of the month.

The company Integral hydraulic (which was known as the GFA Systemtechnik later) was then aware of Ostrowski. Since 3 February 1986, he worked as a staff programmer and developed the GfA Basic, which was originally designed for the Atari ST, and was later converted for the Amiga, MS- DOS, MS- Windows and Unix. The 32 -bit version of this Basics for Windows has now been further developed by the divested from this company branch GFA Software Technologies, which is, however, now been merged into a company that sells door systems.
