Frank Rowlett
Frank Byron Rowlett ( May 2, 1908 *; † 29 June 1998) was an American mathematician and cryptologist.
1930, the math teacher Frank B. Rowlett was one of the first employees of the Signals Intelligence Service ( SIS) under William Friedman, a military department, who then dealt primarily with the development of encryption techniques for the U.S. Army. In 1936 he was involved with Solomon Kullback at the deciphering of the machine with (code name Red ) encrypted diplomatic message traffic of the Japanese.
During World War II Rowlett was instrumental in common with William Friedman in the development of a machine to encrypt military messages of the U.S. Navy, which has been referred to as Sigaba.
After the war he was head of the cryptanalysis at NSA was founded in 1952.
