Frank Tusa

Frank Tusa ( born April 1, 1947 in New York City ) is an American jazz bassist.

Tusa worked, inter alia, with Paul Bley ( 1970-71 ), Dave Liebman's trio Open Sky ( 1972-74 ), Dom Um Romão (1973) and Art Blakey. From 1973 to 1976 he was a member of Liebman's band Lookout Farm. Included with this as a studio band to the pianist Richie Beirach, drummer Jeff Williams and percussionist Badal Roy, the Bengali, he took in 1975 as a bandleader on the album Father Time. Between 1975 and 1979 he formed with Beirach and Eliot Zigmund the group Eon.
