The Cupola
The Frankland Range is a mountain range in the south west of the Australian state of Tasmania, part of the Great Dividing Range. It stretches along the western shore of Lake Pedder in northwest-southeast direction in the northern part of the South West National Park.
The mountains can be reached either by boat over Lake Pedder or overland from Strathgordon or from Scotts Peak Dam from. Because of its poor accessibility, it is as a walking area significantly less popular than other areas in the southwest of the island. At hikers are made more demanding requirements because of the size of the Frankland Range, its terrain and its remote location.
The Davey River and some of its tributaries, such as the Albert River, Frankland River and the Lora River, arise in the Frankland Range.
