Frans Indongo

Frans Indongo Upa ( born January 15, 1936 in Ongwediva, South West Africa, now Namibia ) is a Namibian businessman and corporate managers. He is also CEO of Frans Indongo Group and is one of the five richest Namibians. He was for many years politicians of many Namibian parties.

2001 Indongo received an honorary doctorate from the University of Namibia. In Windhoek is a main road and an office and retail complex, the Frans Indongo Gardens, named after him.

Career

Indongo is considered one of the most successful businessmen of Namibia and it has already brought to the apartheid era before independence in 1990, to great economic wealth. He began his career in 1950 as a manufacturer of bricks in Walvis Bay. He opened a tailor shop in Oranjemund and 1961 developed a general merchandise trade in the north of the country from a supermarket chain. He built and bought numerous properties in Namibia such as Frans Indongo Lodge. Also located Indongo engaged in agriculture, fisheries, sugar and automobile trade and tourism.

Since 2008, he has all his companies united in the Frans Indongo Group.

Policy

Frans Indongo entered the political arena in the 1970s as a member of the National Democratic Party, which later became the Democratic Alliance gym. He took numerous political offices in Ovamboland and was a regional minister from 1975 to 1980. At the end of the 1980s Indongo resigned from political office and devoted himself to his life as a businessman.
