František Cipro

František Cipro ( born April 13, 1947 in Jihlava ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Playing career

František Cipro played in his youth for Dynamo České Budějovice. Between 1966 and 1968, the striker completed his military service in VTJ Tábor. Then Cipro played two years for VCHZ Pardubice, where he became an all-rounder. In the 1970/71 season Cipro played for TJ Gottwaldov before he spent the remainder of his career as a defender at Slavia Prague.

In 1980 he moved as player-coach for unterklassigen club TJ Jílové, he had the same position later in the Austrian club SV Gmünd held.

Coaching career

1988 left Cipro Gmünd and was head coach at Zbrojovka Brno in the second league. With Zbrojovka he made 1990 the rise in 1st Czechoslovak league. Nevertheless, he went in 1990 to AEL Limassol in Cyprus. In 1992 he returned to Czechoslovakia and became a coach at Chmel Blšany. In 1995, Cipro Slavia Prague and led the club to the tradition not only first championship after 49 years but also in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. In 1997, he won the Czech Cup with Slavia. After the 7th round of the 1997/98 season, with nine points behind in second place standing, Cipro was dismissed. He then went to FC Tirol Innsbruck, where cooperation and a half years after ended prematurely.

In 1999, Cipro again Slavia Prague, the Czech team was runner-up and reached the UEFA Cup quarter-finals. After just 18 points from 13 matches in the 2000 /01 season Cipro was dismissed. In 2001, he coached LASK Linz, but again he had to go early, as the team was on the bottom of the table after eight games. The end of 2001 he took over the FK Teplice, he led on the seventh place in the table from the thirteenth. After a completely unsuccessful start to the season 2002/ 03 was replaced by Cipro František Straka. 2003/ 04 he coached Viktoria Pilsen, the team rose as Table 2 in the league from.

In early April 2005, but Cipro coach at relegation-threatened Dynamo České Budějovice, the case in the second-tier level could not prevent. In the season 2005/ 06 with the team he managed to immediate promotion back to the Gambrinus League. After three defeats in the first four games of the season 2007/ 08 Cipro was dismissed.

From summer 2008 until April 2009, Cipro was the second time coach of the Upper Austrian provincial division club SV Freistadt.

Following the resignation of Karel Jarolim at Slavia Prague on 30 March 2010 František Cipro took over the team.
