František Hrubín

František Hrubín ( born September 17, 1910 in Prague, † March 1, 1971 ) was a Czech writer, author of nature and love poetry, poets.

In his youth he lived in Lesany. After finishing high school in Prague, he broke in 1932 his studies of philosophy and theology at Charles University from. From 1934 he worked in the Municipal Library of Prague and later at the Ministry of Information. From 1946 until his death he was a full-time writer.

Hrubín was co-founder of the children's magazine thyme ( mateřídouška ) and edited it from 1945 until 1950.

He criticized together with Jaroslav Seifert 1956, the collection of literature by politics and was imprisoned for a writer. This initially led to a complete ban on publication, but later he was sent to work as a translator and children's book author.
