Franz Bucher

Franz Bucher ( born 1940 in Sarnen ) is a Swiss visual artist. His work includes paintings, drawings, woodcuts, engravings, reliefs, wall and glass paintings.

Life

After attending school in Sarnen and St. Michael's College in train 1957 he was trained up in 1962 to a decorative painter and worked in Lucerne, Basel and Zurich. From 1963 to 1967 he studied at the School of Art Basel and the University of Lucerne. During this time, Bucher began with her own artistic activities and participated in the first exhibition. From 1971 to 1989 he was a member of the Association of Zug artists. He received in 1972, 1974 and 1975 Swiss Art Award Scholarship and was in 1973 fellow at the Istituto Svizzero di Roma. In 1974 he was appointed as a lecturer in Visual Arts and Art lessons teaching (until 2003) to the Seminary of St. Michael and train at the University of Lucerne.

According to the survey exhibition in 1985 at Kunstmuseum Chur Grisons took place a retrospective traveling exhibition through Hungary in the art museums of Esztergom, Tata and Budapest with the support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia 1989-1990. While from 1986 to 1992 Member of the Art and Art Prize Committee of the city of Lucerne, he was admitted to the Guild of Swiss Mountain Painters 1990. Since 1995, bird member of the Art Commission of the St. Anna Clinic, Hirslanden, Lucerne. According to a study in New York in 1996 he was a visiting lecturer in 2001 in the framework of the lecture " Christology " by Wolfgang Müller at the University of Lucerne and guest lecturer during the lecture, " Passion " by Henk Geuke at the University of Lucerne. In 2005, he joined the Swiss artist group verarte.ch.
