Franz-Josef Deiters

Franz -Josef Deiters ( born October 13, 1964 in Schermbeck on the Lower Rhine ) is a German - Australian literary scholar and specialist in German.

Life

After studying German literature and philosophy, he worked from 1993 to 2006 in the German Department of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, where he received his doctorate of philosophy in 1997 and his habilitation in 2004 in the subject Newer German Literature. After a visiting professorship at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia - Herzegovina (2005 ) and a substitute professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt aM (2006 ), he joined in October 2006 to Melbourne, Australia, where he has taught at Monash University. 2010 Deiters was inducted into the Australian Academy of the Humanities.

His research interests extend over the German -language literature from the 18th century to the present and the field of literary theory and philosophical aesthetics.
