Franz Josef, New Zealand

Franz Josef is a place in the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located on State Highway 6, 23 km north of Fox Glacier and 30 km south of Whataroa. In 2006 there lived 330 inhabitants. A few kilometers south begins from a parking lot on a trail through the rainforest on foot to reach Franz Josef Glacier.
