Franzl Lang

Franzl Lang, née: Franz Lang ( born December 28, 1930 in Obersendling, Munich) is a German singer, yodeler, guitarist and accordion player. He is since 1954 married to Johanna and has a son and a daughter.

Life

Francis grew up in Munich and learned after school the profession of toolmaking. Even as a 9- year-old he got an accordion, one of his trademark was later. The popular actor Ludwig Schmid- Wildy took him to Munich Platz, where he made ​​his first stage experience. This was followed by test shots and soon came the first recording contract. His recording cuckoo yodel made ​​him famous. Numerous appearances on radio and television followed, in which he sang and yodelling in particular. In 1956, he joined with a title in the film Salzburg stories by Kurt Hoffmann; in 1961, he took a supporting role in the film The organ builder home of St. Mary's, in which he sang the Königsjodler among others. The following year, he was seen with the Laughing yodel on the side of Kurt Großkurth in the hit movie Dance with me in the morning.

In 1968 he had his greatest success with the Kufsteinlied. The multi award-winning home folk song about the small Tyrolean town of Kufstein became an Evergreen folk music. It has since been recorded by many other artists, as for example by Heino, Mary and Margot Hellwig, Marianne and Michael.

In the 1970s he was a regular guest at "The Merry Musicians" on ZDF and other popular programs. He was also heard on numerous concert tours and see. With over 500 eingesungenen titles, more than 10 million records sold, 20 Golden and a platinum record, he is one of the most successful singers of the folk music industry.
