Frau Trude

Frau Trude is a fairy tale (ATU 334). It is in the Children's and Household Tales of the Brothers Grimm from the 3rd edition of 1837 to point 43 (KHM 43).

Content

A little girl who never obeys goes against orders to evil Frau Trude. There it tells her trembling of a black, a green and a red man, what Frau Trude dismisses as Köhler, hunters and butchers. When it says that it has seen the devil, the witch is to recognize the child turned into wood, throws it into the fire and warm to it.

Origin

Note Grimm called the source, a poem from Meier teddies woman paperback 1823, p 360, this is a better and more complete tradition than in the previous volumes (KHM 43a The whimsical Gasterei ). The verse and rhyme structure of the template was dissolved, but the content and dialogical character largely reproduced.
