Fred Dryer

John Frederick "Fred" Dryer ( born July 6, 1946 in Hawthorne, California) is an American actor and former professional football player.

Life

Before he started working as an actor, Fred Dryer was active as a football player. He began his career at San Diego State University. Later, he was recruited by the New York Giants, where he played from 1969 to 1971. Other teams for which he played, were the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams.

After 14 years, however, he finished his career in football and began acting in the early 1980s. His first film, titled The Starmaker in 1981 made ​​for television. His most famous role is that of Sergeant Rick Hunter in the TV series Hunter, which was produced from 1984 to 1991. Dryer was also active as a director. He directed an episode of Hunter and turned in 2000, the thriller Highway 395

Fred Dryer was married from 1983 to 1988 to actress Tracy Vaccaro, together they have a daughter.
