Fred Giannelli

Fred Giannelli ( born March 12, 1960 in Medford ) is an American musician, producer and label owner.

Giannelli came in 1984 in contact with Genesis P -Orridge, on whose label Temple Records, he a 12 " published in the following year under the name Turning Shrines. 1987 he came to the departure of Alex Fergusson as a touring guitarist for P- Orridges group Psychic TV and became there the keyboardist and songwriter, among other things, also the hit single "IC Water" composed and with Psychic TV on Temple Rec presented several albums in a short time. Giannelli one of the pioneers of acid house, rumors say Psychic TV after this term in the time with Giannelli in the first place to have coined. Besides, he released a solo album in 1988 as Turning Shrines and with Caresse, daughter of Genesis P -Orridge, as Caresse & Sickmob a cover version of Jimi Hendrix's " are you experienced ".

1990 came after a financially disastrous tour to a rift with P -Orridge, whereupon Giannelli 1991, the label founded Telepathic Records. Then he released his own productions where he specialized in future experimental techno and acid house. He worked with Richie Hawtin (as Spawn ) and Cari Lekebusch and also took other musicians on his label in repertoire. Giannelli came as a live act later on, especially in techno clubs and festivals.

Giannelli productions and his live repertoire characterized by experimentation and humor, but use due to its avant-garde minimalism, only one division audience. His style is, on the other hand reflect both the Detroit techno of German techno. His published on Telepathic vinyl releases have been distributed in Germany by Techno Superstition as two compilation CDs, however, he is represented on countless techno compilations as producer or remixer tours led him around the world.
