Fred Jackson (saxophonist)

Fred Jackson ( * 1913 in Atlanta, Georgia) was an American saxophonist ( alto and tenor saxophone) of rhythm and blues and soul jazz.

Jackson played towards the end of the 1940s, in rhythm-and - blues bands like the Paul Williams Orchestra, and then at Little Richard. He achieved fame for his involvement with the Soul Jazz Sessions of the Blue Note label in Baby Face Wilette and Big John Patton. In 1962, under his own name was the album Hootin '' n Tootin 'on Blue Note. Since the mid- 1960s, no new recordings more have emerged.
