Fred Morrison
Fred Morrison (born 1963 in Bishopton, Renfrewshire, Scotland ) is one of the most famous bagpipe players in the world. On the bagpipes he was from the age of 9 years from his father - this was also Fred - taught.
For his bagpipes Fred Morrison received, among others the following awards:
- The Gold Medal of the World 's premier piping competitions of the Northern Meeting in Inverness
- The gold medal of the Argyllshire Gathering in Oban
- Seven times the Macallan Trophy of the Festival de Lorient in Brittany, Lorient Interceltic
- 2004 Award Instrumentalist of the Year Scots Trad Music Awards of.
In addition to his solo career, he played for a short time at the Folk Group and Clan Alba for three years in Capercaillie.
