Frédéric Roux

Frédéric Roux (* June 27, 1973 in Nancy ) is a French former football goalkeeper.

Career

The French goalkeeper comes from the youth department of AS Nancy, his hometown. For this club, he played on 28 September 1996 to the game against SC Bastia his professional debut in Ligue 1 until 1999 Roux completed 75 games for Nancy and then was loaned for one season to the second division side LB Châteauroux, for which he 36 times aground. In 2001 he moved to five times French champions Girondins Bordeaux. There, however, he could not prevail against the first goalkeeper Ulrich Ramé and came in six years to only 19 missions. In 2002, he won with the Bordeaux Coupe de la Ligue. In 2006, Frédéric Roux to AC Ajaccio, who were relegated in the previous season in the Ligue 2. There he was a season goalkeeper before he again left the club in August 2007. The reigning champions Olympique Lyon Roux had originally committed as a substitute for the internal with a ligament tear in his knee badly injured Grégory Coupet. On a bet, he never came at Olympique. Instead, he lost the competition against the former goalkeeper Rémy Vercoutre and was able to view the winning the championship and the Cup only of the spare bank. After Lyon Hugo Lloris committed another promising goalkeeper for the 2008/09 season, Roux left the club and ended his career.
