Frédéric Studer

Frédéric Studer ( born May 26, 1926 in Muralto, † October 22, 2005 in Lausanne) was a Swiss painter and illustrator and cartoonist known as " Urs ".

Life

Studer graduated from 1944 to 1948 trained as a draftsman and lithographer in Lausanne. The first drawings he published in 1953 in Paris-Match and L' illustré, and later in the Gazette littéraire. As a cartoonist, he has worked for, among others, 24 Heures and bridge builder.

In addition to his work as a painter and draftsman Studer was known as a book illustrator and newspaper cartoonist. In addition, he produced in 1971 a short animated film. His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.
