Frederick A. Askew Skuse

Frederick A. Askew Skuse (* around 1863, † June 10, 1896 in Sydney) was a British- Australian entomologist.

Life and work

Frederick Askew Skuse studied at the Natural History Museum in London, before moving to Australia in 1886 to edit the Australian Diptera. In 1890 he was promoted to research assistant in the entomology department of the Australian Museum. He held until his untimely death this position. Among other things, he is the first to describe the Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus.
