Frederick Klaeber

Friedrich Klaeber ( born October 1, 1863 in Beetzendorf; † October 4, 1954 in Bad Kösen, also Frederick Klaeber ) was a German Anglist.

Life

His doctorate in philosophy, he received in 1892 from the University of Berlin. In 1902 he married Charlotte delusion. Klaeber taught English and comparative linguistics from 1896 to 1932 as a professor at the University of Minnesota. He called himself Frederick Klaeber there. In 1932 he became professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

His research mainly dealt with issues of Old English literature, especially the Beowulf saga.
