Frederick VII, Count of Zollern

Frederick VII of Zollern († after 6 October 1309) was a Count of Zollern.

Life

Friedrich was the elder son of Count Friedrich VI. of Zollern from his marriage to Gwendolyn (1265-1310), daughter of Margrave Rudolf I von Baden.

He married 1298 Euphemia († 1333), daughter of Count Albrecht II von Hohenberg. The marriage was initiated by King Rudolf I personally and ended the years of rivalry between the two Swabian earls Hohenberg and Zollern. After the death of Frederick reigned his brother Frederick VIII on the ancestral homeland of Hohenzollern.

Progeny

From his marriage Frederick had two sons:

  • Fritzli I. ( † around 1313 ), Lord of Zollern
  • Albrecht ( † 1320 )
