Free Art License

The Free Art License (orig. French Licence Art Libre, LAL ) is a French Open Content License with copyleft feature. It allows the free distribution and modification of plants that were licensed under this License, for both commercial and non- commercial use.

The essential features of the LAL include:

  • Obligation to attribution of the author in a form which permits an unambiguous assignment to the work;
  • Name the license and easy searchability of the associated text of the license, either by linking, by printing a web link or impression of the license;
  • From an article published under this License plant derived variants must also be licensed under this License;
  • The version number and language version of the license is not binding on the subsequent user or employee.

The license is also viewed by the Free Software Foundation as a free license and meets the definition of free licenses. The authors of the license refer to the compatibility with the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Art. Apart from that it is very similar to the Creative Commons license type cc-by- sa login.
