Free (Band)

Free was a British rock band, founded in London in 1968. Her most famous song is All Right Now.

History

Paul Kossoff and Simon Kirke played previously with the band Black Cat Bones. Kossoff and Kirke saw Paul Rodgers during his time at Brown Sugar and agreed with him and, on Alexis Korner's advice towards to start with Andy Fraser a band. Alexis Korner gave the band the name Free after appearing in Nags Head pub in Battersea. Korner's choice met with approval, as a formation of Jack Bruce, Graham Bond and Ginger Baker Free At Last was called and this name the band members well-liked. The biggest hit of the group was all right now. In 1973, the band broke up.

Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke (drums) founded soon after Bad Company. Paul Kossoff founded 1974/75 with some unknown musicians, the band Backstreet Crawler, with whom he toured and released two albums. He died in 1976 at age 25 of heart failure - probably as a result of his drug addiction ( Mandrax ). Andy Fraser ( bass guitar), who had left the band in 1972, first joined The Sharks at, published in the 70ern/80ern three solo albums, worked among others as a composer for Frankie Miller and is still active as a musician. Paul Rodgers later worked as a solo artist, as well as with Jimmy Page in The Firm and Kenney Jones in The Law. He was from 2005 to 2009 singer of Queen Paul Rodgers, in their world tours, the Free song All Right Now, Fire and Water, Little Bit of Love and Wishing Well were heard.
