Free jumping

When free jumping a horse without a rider jumps over an obstacle, usually an obstacle episode.

Benefit

The free jumping serves the gymnastic training of the horse and carries in the assessment, especially young horses in view of their potential for jumping significantly to the verdict. When free jumping, the horse in its natural, not influenced by the action of a rider movement and jump sequence can be evaluated. In addition, the free jumping serves to accustom young horses to the motion of jumping and jumping technique.

Method

Usually a jump lane is built to do so. This means that the obstacles are to be assembled directly to the band at the long side of a riding school or a closed riding arena.
