Free Socialist Party/Marxist-Leninists

The Free Socialist Party ( Marxist-Leninist) (FSP / ML ) was the first Maoist- oriented party in the Federal Republic of Germany. It was founded in 1967 and existed mainly in the winning country until the 1980s ( soon as the District Association Siegen / Olpe the KPD / ML). In contrast to from 1965 occurred Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany, which was viewed by some as a foundation of the Protection of the Constitution and that has nothing to do with today MLPD, its founding members were publicly and were known by name. The FSP / ML is the predecessor organizations of the Communist Party of Germany / Marxists -Leninists ( KPD / ML ) were counted.

The initiators of the Free Socialist Party / Marxist-Leninists first appeared in the spring of 1967, with leaflets in appearance, which called for an inaugural meeting of a Marxist- Leninist party. This took place on 22 April 1967 at the Käthe- Kollwitz Haus in Frankfurt am Main. Instead of the expected 1,000 buyers were only less than 100 appeared, most of which belonged to other groups. First Secretary of the Central Committee of the FSP / ML Günter Ackermann was elected, but again soon left the party.
