Fremad Amager

Fremad Amager is a Danish football club from the district of Copenhagen Amager. The club has played several times in the highest Danish league last 1994.

History

The club was founded in 1910 with a 51 % share of Fremad Amager Invest, a group led by the Faroese football star Todi Jónsson, adopted on 20 March 2007. The goal was to play no later than 2010 in the Super League and until then especially to promote the Faroese football by here players are preparing for an international career. The 35 -year-old Jónsson was not only well-known investor but also field players of the club. However, the 2006/07 season culminated in relegation to the third tier. As runners- East group Fremad Amager reached the play-offs to the resurgence against Braband IF, this could be won with 1-0 and 3-0. Thereupon, the club joined together with Dragør Boldklub, Kastrup Boldklub and Kløvermarken FB to FC Amager together, which in the 2008/ 09 second division played. However, in the course of the season the club went bankrupt and was excluded from the league. Fremad Amager was subsequently re-classified in the fifth division and managed directly two climbs in succession, so that the club 2011/12 played in the third-class 2nd Division East. There, however, was achieved with a 5th place no further ascent.

Fremad reached the 1972 Danish Cup final. There, the team Vejle BK defeated 0-2.

Internationally
