The French sign language, the Langue of signes française is usually abbreviated with SPF.
The LSF is the natural language of most deaf people in France and French-speaking Switzerland. The SPF is also the mother of several other sign languages , so among other Austrian Sign Language or American Sign Language (ASL ) as the sign language was promoted for the first time properly in France ( see also history of sign languages ).
The Langue of signes belge ( Belgian Sign Language ), and the Langue of signes québécoise (French Canadian Sign Language ) differ from the LSF.
