Frenzel goggles

The Frenzelbrille, named after the Göttingen otologist Hermann Frenzel (1895-1967), is a completely enclosed light glasses with plus glasses of 15.00 diopters. It is used as an investigative tool in the vestibular to assess the involuntary eye movements of nystagmus provoked or spontaneous in a subject can. The high-refraction lens elements ensure a close monitoring of eye movements while irradiating illumination from below by the resulting glare off any possibility of fixation of the patient.
