Freya Ross

Freya Murray ( born September 20, 1983 in Edinburgh) is a British long-distance runner.

So far it has been six times Scottish champion in cross-country running on the short distance (2003, 2004, 2006, 2008-2010) and four times on the long-haul (2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010).

In the European Cross Country Championships 2009 in Dublin, she was ninth and won with the British team silver.

In 2010 she traveled as a winner of the British excretion fight to the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, where she finished in 37th place. In the spring she won the Great Ireland Run in front of Joanne Pavey and Benita Willis and in the fall she was starting for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi seventh in the 5000m and fifth in the 10,000 m. Shortly thereafter, she was second in the Great South Run.

Freya Murray start for Edinburgh AC and is coached by Steve Jones. She studied at Heriot -Watt University and works since 2006 in part-time as a supporting framework planner for the firm Cundall.
