Friedo Dörfel

Friedo Franz Ferdinand Dörfel ( born February 19, 1915 in Hamburg, † November 8, 1980 ) was a German football player.

The striker began his career at Viktoria Harburg, where his talent was soon discovered. He then moved to Hamburg and was during his 14 years ( 1934-1948 ) there several times German champion North or Gaumeister the " Nordmark ". 1947 and 1948 he also won the championship of the British zone.

After his playing days he was a coach in the league at Harburg TB 1865, Bremer SV and VfB Lübeck.

His sons Gert Dörfel and Bernd Dörfel later played also for HSV and for the national team.

Mistakenly Friedo Dörfel also the first name Frederick is attributed. However, according to passport he was carrying only the specified name.
