Friedrich L. Sell

Friedrich Leopold Sell ( born May 26, 1954 in Munich) is Professor of Economics at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich, as well as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Institute for Economic Research. He is also Deputy Director of Studies of Administration and Business Academy in Munich.

Life

Sell ​​studied from 1974 to 1979 economics at the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg and from 1979 worked as a research assistant at the university. He received his doctorate in 1981 and his habilitation in 1988 at the Albert -Ludwigs- University of Freiburg. After a deputy chair and time professor of Economics and Development Studies at the University of Giessen Sell was 1991-1992 Professor of Economics in Giessen.

He took up a position in 1992 at the Technical University Dresden and taught there until 1997 as a professor of economics, especially international economic relations. Since 1998 Sell Chair of economics, especially macroeconomics and economic policy at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. From 2008-2010 he was at the university also Vice President for Research, gave this office on but after he was appointed Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Institute for Economic Research.

His focus in the research provide theoretical as well as international economic relations and economic policy topics from macroeconomics dar. Sell was a signatory to the euro critical manifesto The EC monetary union leads to the Ordeal (1992).
