For the special Algology a new era was established by Kützings work. His work "Species algarum " ( Leipz. 1849) contains all the then known species. He also wrote: " Synopsis Diatomearum " (Hall 1833); " Tabulae phycologicae " ( Nordh. 1845-70, 20 vols with 2,000 colored illustrations ); " Phycologia generalis, or anatomy, physiology, and the system customer Tange " ( Leipz. 1843, with 80 colored plates ); " The pebble -skinned Bacillarien or diatoms " ( Nordh. 1844, with 30 panels; 2 Abdr. 1865); " Phycologia germanica " (ibid. 1845).
