Friedrich Wilhelm Rahe

Friedrich Wilhelm " Fieten " Rahe (* April 16, 1888 in Rostock, † February 18, 1949 ) was a German tennis and hockey player.

Rahe participated in the 1908 Olympic Games in London in part, both in tennis and in hockey. In tennis competition he was eliminated in the first round each in singles and doubles with Oscar cruiser. In hockey, he was defeated with the German team in the preliminary round Scotland with 0:4. In the match for fifth place with a 1-0 win for the German Reich he scored the only goal for the team. It was also the final result.

With Heinrich Klein Schroth he reached the Wimbledon Championships 1913 at the final of the men's doubles. There they were subject to the British title defense Herbert Roper Barrett and Charles Dixon 6:2, 6:4, 4:6, 6:2. Three times he was also in the singles final of the International German Championships at Hamburg Rothbaum: In 1906, he defeated the British Josiah Ritchie, 1909 and 1922 Otto Froitzheim.

In the seasons 1913 and 1927 Rahe played three matches for the German Davis Cup team. He won two of his three singles matches, while its balance sheet in a double with 1:1 is balanced. Both double games he played with Heinrich Klein Schroth.
