The Friesland Flyers (until 2011 Heerenveen Flyers) are a Dutch Hockey Team from Heerenveen, since the beginning of the 1970s to the Eredivisie, the highest Dutch professional league, participates.

History

The club was founded in 1967 as Thialf Heerenveen and plays its home games at the 3,500 -seat Thialf IJsstadion in Heerenveen. The following was the name of the club due to changing main sponsors since its inception: Feenstra Verwarming Heerenveen, Feenstra Flyers, Pelgrimstreet Flyers, Formido Flyers, Flyers and Vadeko Hajé Flyers.

Training is the team of Justin Bekkering. Your strongest phase had the Flyers when they won the late 1970s, early 1980s, all of their seven Dutch league title in a row.

In the 2008 /09 season the club reached after the fifth place in the regular season, the play-off quarter-finals, where they failed, however, with 1:2 victories at the Nijmegen Devils.
