Friesland Foods

Royal Friesland Foods ( Koninklijke Friesland Foods NV until June 7, 2004 Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods Holding NV) based in the Netherlands, was a multinational company that for private and professional users and for the food industry a wide range of dairy products and fruit drinks developed, produced and marketed. In 2008 the company merged with Campina to Royal FrieslandCampina.

The company has a strong presence, especially in Western and Central Europe, West Africa and Southeast Asia in the dairy market. 2007 were processed 6.9 million tonnes of milk, the turnover was 5.1 billion euros. Royal Friesland Foods employs approximately 14,600 employees, of which the majority ( 12,300 in 2004) to work outside the Netherlands. Royal Friesland Foods is a cooperative with 10,700 members - mostly Dutch farmers, who are both supplier and owner of the company. Since 1879, the company grew steadily through mergers and acquisitions. In 1997, the current form of the company, as Friesland Dairy Foods, Coberco and the cheese dairies De Zuid- Oost- Hoek and Twee Provinciën was fusierten to Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods ( fCDf ). In December 2001 fCDf acquired the beverage division of Numico, with the brands chocomel / Cécémel, Fristi and Extran.

On 7 June 2004 Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Friesland Coberco Dairy Food Holding NV granted the right to the name " Royal " (ie royal ) to use. From this date the name of the holding company to Koninklijke Friesland Foods NV changed The entire group has acquired a new internal style and a new logo in 2005.
