History

The ice hockey department of IF Frisk was founded on February 5, 1922, making it one of the oldest hockey clubs in Norway. Until the late 1960s the club played continuously in the lower regional leagues. The upswing came with the investment of Bjørn Mortensen, who gave the IF Frisk a new home. He built an ice rink, which meant a great advance since the club played usually on natural ice.

1969 Askerhalle was completed, bringing the infrastructure was created for greatness, but it lacked in athletic class. So the club decided on the new season with the hockey club IK Tigrene to merge from Oslo who lived through the opposite problem, namely, poor infrastructure, but many good players. With this clever gambit succeeded Frisk Asker in a few years made it into the elite of Norway. 1970 celebrated the team's already the first success and was runner-up, as well as 1972. During the same year the club but also suffered a severe setback when the Askerhalle was severely damaged by fire. But again it was the sympathizer Mortensen, who built the hall again. The new Askerhalle was opened in 1973. After another runner-up in 1974, succeeded in 1975 for the first time the great coup with the championship. 1979, the team could celebrate the second championship, bringing the 1970s are considered the best years of Frisk Asker.

In the 1980s, the Tigers played in the first league hockey, but the great success of previous years, they no longer came on. Only a runner jumped out in 1986. After turbulent years with financial problems and a merger with the local hockey club bars, the club under the new name Asker Hockey had to make the descent. In 1995, the club managed to return to the highest league under the new name IF Frisk Asker, after he had finished the unproductive cooperation with spars.
