Frits Korthals Altes

Frederik ( Frits ) Korthals Altes ( born May 15, 1931 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch politician of the Volkspartij voor de Vrijheid Democracy.

Korthals Altes graduated from the University of Leiden to study law, which he completed in 1957. From 1982 to 1989 he was under Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers, Minister of Justice and 1986 also briefly Minister of the Interior. From 1997 to 2001 he was President of the Senate. He was appointed Minister of State in 2001.
