Fritz Hahne

Life

Friedrich Hahnemann founded in 1907 together with Christian Wilkening a chair factory in Eimbeckhausen in Hanover, they formed two names from the company name Wilkhahn. The sons of the founder, Fritz Hahne and Adolf Wilkening take over in 1946, the chair factory.

Fritz Hahne ran from 1946 to 1982 the company Wilkhahn and reformed the German entrepreneurship. He led 1954 at Wilkhahn company pension schemes, as well as a possible employee to actively participate in the company's success. In the 1960s, he works closely with the Ulm School of Design together; it is composed standards in product design. 1971 leads a Hahne 's 50 percent profit sharing for employees. After his retirement from the daily business he was from 1982 to 1994 Chairman of the Board of Directors Wilkhahn and board member of International Design Centre Berlin. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bauhaus Archives, as well as the German Design Council in Frankfurt am Main.
