Fritz Schulz (footballer)

Fritz Schulz ( born November 9, 1886 in Berlin, † March 5, 1918 ) was a German football player.

Football career

The striker played from July 1900 to June 1914 for the BFC Hertha 1892. With the Old Lady in 1906, he qualified for the finals of the German Championship and failed there in the semi-final on eventual champions VfB Leipzig.

On April 4, 1909, he played one of the first official international games for the German national football team. The game against the Hungarian national football team finished 3-3. Thus, Schulz was the first player from Hertha.

Private

He was a typesetter by profession and fell during the First World War, on 5 March 1918.
